Marrow, a boutique butcher shop and destination restaurant at 8044 Kercheval Ave. in Detroit’s West Village, is closing June 7 after being in business since 2018.
Founder Ping Ho posted on Facebook that "after a lot of reflection, I’ve made the decision to consolidate Marrow and put our full focus on Marrow in Eastern Market" at 2442 Riopelle St.
The Birmingham location at 283 Hamilton Row will run through Memorial Day weekend and then pivot to a new concept — "one where Marrow will still have a presence. More details on that transition to come."
Ping Ho went on to write:
"We have a beautiful, purpose-built butcher shop and restaurant just a few miles away in Eastern Market, and we hope you’ll continue to be part of our family there. Turning the page on this chapter is bittersweet.
"Since we opened in West Village in 2018, that space has been home to so many meaningful meals, milestones, and memories. I’m grateful to every person who helped build this, starting with Chef Sarah Welch and our opening team, who helped earn Marrow recognition over the years, and set this company on the path it’s on today."
